About

Hello,
My name is Georgina Stewart. Originally from London, I now live in Pembrokeshire, Wales. I have enrolled at the OCA to study for a BA (Hons) in Photography.
My previous studies lied in Religion, where I have achieved a BA (Hons) in Religious Studies and a MA (Merit) in Islamic Studies. But I have always been interested in photography and so decided on a change in direction from my previous studies. Photography has always been a part of my life; from a young age I was taking photos, encouraged by my family to experience the creativeness of photography. My family are all keen photographers, with my grandfather running his own photographic business. Living in Pembrokeshire, with all its beautiful scenery makes it a prime spot for any photographer; I really enjoy discovering new locations and photographing them.

I have completed three Level One courses, Expressing Your Vision, Context and Narrative and Identity and Place. I have recently completed both Landscape and Digital Image and Culture at Level Two. I have now have progressed onto Level Three. I am interested in Landscape photography, and am interested in combining my previous studies with photography. For my body of work, I will be looking at Pilgrimage and the gender inequality surrounding landscape photography.

I used to only use Nikon cameras but recently I have changed to an Olympus OMD EM-1. I use both a 12-40mm and a 40-150mm. I have also started using Lee filter system, which I have found a valuable resource in landscape photography.

I will be updating my learning log as I complete the course exercises and assignments.
